Malapit ng bumalik sa eskwela! (Almost time to go back to school!)
Maligayang Pasko at Masaganang Bagong Taon! (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!) Winter break’s been nice to you FACToids, right? Keeping cozy by the fireplace? Well, we’ve prepared some exciting things for you this spring semester. Gear up!
- First up is the First General Body Meeting on Thursday, January 19 (the Facebook Event will be up shortly).
- Penny Wars is also a big focus. Remember how we competed with the other Asian Orgs for penny collections last semester? This time, the Wars are within FACT, as each Tribe will battle against each other for the most pennies! Please note that only pennies are accepted in the Penny Wars. Nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills count negatively, even though they all hold a higher monetary value.
- Balikbayan Box — sound familiar? FACT is filling one up to send to a school in the Philippines. If you don’t know what a Balikbayan box is, it is a large “care package” that Filipinos ship to their relatives, a charity, or any other group in the Philippines, which generally contains a plethora of necessities and gifts. Examples of these goods include soap, clothes, and toys. Start gathering your Balikbayan Box donations!
- It’s almost springtime, a major moment of the year for Filipino organizations around Virginia. Why? It’s Culture Night season! Soon, we’ll be holding auditions for the upcoming FACT@VCU Culture Night. Think you’ve got the X Factor we’re looking for?
